what are the benefits?

Job experience
If you are entering the workforce for the first time after college, you likely don’t have the required experience for the job you want yet. An internship is a perfect way to fill that gap. You can gain valuable exposure to how a business in your chosen field runs, take part in meetings, and perform assigned tasks in a real-world setting
Access to multiple departments
Let’s say you already know what field you want to work in, but you still haven’t decided what kind of job in the publishing industry you might like to pursue. Exposure to people in various departments and jobs through an internship can help you make a decision.
Mentorship
If you opt for the technical field, what better place to find mentorship if not in Silicon Valley, the heart of tech businesses? Working as an intern may allow you to meet a potential mentor and establish a relationship that helps guide your career path
Career Guidance
An internship can give you job experience by introducing you to daily rigors and tasks without a strict commitment to that precise career track. It can help you decide if certain jobs fit your talents and personality.
Networking opportunity
"It's all about who you know" has some truth to it in professional environments, where the right connections can make the difference. Internships are a practical way to expand your network. The people you will meet might be the most valuable connection for your career, so showing curiosity, enthusiasm and willingness can help them see your potential.
Build a strong resume
Internships count as work experience. Keep that in mind if you're just starting out building your CV. Having an internship at a tech company from Silicon Valley listed on your resume will definitely help you stand out from other entry-level candidates.
Get references and recommendations
The most successful job search usually comes from meeting others in your field who can recommend you for open positions. With the right endorsements, you can prove your knowledge, skills and potential to anyone.
Transition from college to job
Transitioning from college to full-time employment can fill you with excitement, anxiety and ambition all at once. An internship is a better way to go through that transition phase. It reduces the pressure of quickly finding a permanent full-time job.
Build confidence
An internship in Silicon Valley can give you the confidence to apply for the job you want once you get back home, instead of settling for any entry-level position.
